The Russo Civic Association

The Russo Civic Association is a community based service organization of approximately 300 members providing recreational and social services to the youth and senior citizen population of Hoboken.

Founded 30 years ago by a group of young Hoboken people, the Civic Association aimed to fill a gap in services directed at the young and elderly.  As an aging industrial city, Hoboken had lost much of its income base and population to suburban flight.  Members of the Civic Association vowed to give something back to their community and create recreational and social opportunities for families and seniors who chose not to flee.

Over the years the Russo Civic Association has touched thousands of lives and has proved the most enduring Social and Recreational non-profit organization in the City, providing opportunities 12 months a year with an entirely volunteer base and self-raised budget. The Civic Association receives no government or foundation funds and relies entirely on the community and member donations.  Membership in the Civic Association costs $60.00 a year for a family.  All activities provided by the Civic Association are FREE.

Overall, the Russo Civic Association has proven track record of providing volunteer based community services to Hoboken residents. They are an integral part of the Hoboken community and deserve to be recognized for their efforts as a volunteer organization.
